1 Card = 1 Tree Planted

Yes, it’s just as great as it’s sounds! Every time you buy from The Seed Card Company, we plant one whole tree in our forests in Madagascar, completely free, on your behalf. How? Well, we’ve teamed up with global reforestation project, Ecologi to make this happen (and help us with all the planting!). This not only offsets any delivery carbon, but it also makes a large impact when it comes to rebuilding natural habitats and creates jobs for local communities who plant and maintain these new forests all over the world! We think that’s pretty awesome. Every time you buy from us, you are supporting Ecologi and helping to tackle the climate crisis we’re facing, bringing us a step closer to that all important net-zero target.

Why Your Support Is Important

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that our collective home is in the process of being turned completely upside down, which is already leading to many problems here on Earth. Unfortunately, our incredible planet can’t save itself – it’s up to us. It has been proven that much of the damage we have caused can be reversed and prevented in the future, but only if we act now.

Reducing our carbon footprint is entirely necessary, but the transition of change is far slower than the time we have remaining. Although every little helps, it’s time that we started to think big. If we support the climate solutions that are out there right now, it will significantly change the course we’re on, undoing 30 years of carbon damage by avoiding 1,500 billion tonnes of CO2. Who are Ecologi?

Ecologi is an organisation that partners with climate projects all over the world to offset carbon emissions and, of course, plant trees. Anyone can use it, you just have to subscribe for a small monthly fee! That money goes straight towards various emission-reducing projects in places like Madagascar, Malawi, India and Kenya. Each project has been independently certified by environmental integrity body, Gold Standard. 

To put things into perspective, about £5 a month will offset the average carbon footprint (a whopping 22 tonnes) and plants twelve real trees. You can then watch them grow in your digital forest! 

Here’s some food for thought; if just 1% of the world’s population subscribed to Ecologi, the company could plant 900 million trees every month, creating employment for local families, restoring wildlife habitats and sequestering billions of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere. The Ecologi concept is simple: compensate your carbon footprint, fund climate projects, set yourself some eco goals in the process and capture all of your progress on your profile!

Making an Impact

You’ll never see our cards wrapped in those cellophane pouches, or any plastic packaging upon delivery, for that matter. All of our packaging is made from recycled post-consumer waste. Our packaging isn’t the only thing made like this; our seed cards are too! This means that no new trees are ever harmed in the making of our cards and they will naturally break down, without leaving any nasties behind. This makes such a difference when it comes to tackling the global crises we are facing. Sounds good, hey?
