Seed card is a biodegradable eco-friendly card made from post-consumer materials. During the manufacturing process, seeds are embedded within the card. It can be planted, will degrade and the seeds will sprout into wildflowers.

Seed card is still handmade, like in the old days. This is why some of the seed card sheets are slightly different thicknesses to each other, but if you ask us, it’s all part of the charm.

Seed card is made from post-consumer waste, so is made of lots of old paper and card. No new trees were damaged or cut down to turn it into seed card.

Any pen can be used to write on seed card, but due to the rough nature you will see better results using something other than a fountain pen (but these will still work).

Seed card is made entirely from post-consumer waste, usually waste paper and card collected from local businesses and schools. The collected paper and card are broken down and reformed into pulp and made into new 100% recycled sheets of paper and card. The best part, no trees were harmed in the making of this material.

Seed card can be planted at any time of the year but bear in mind it will grow into plants. Like most plants, they prefer to grow in spring and summer if you are planting outside. Try and stay away from scorching desert and arctic wind temperatures. If you are planting inside then as long as the soil stays watered, at room temperature and has some sunlight, you’ll be enjoying your wildflowers in no time.

There is a mixture of 6 wildflower types in our seed card; Bird’s Eye, Clarkia, Black Eyed Susan, Catchfly, Snapdragon and Sweet Alyssum. Think of it as a lucky dip.

Our seed card is safe to plant in many countries as it grows into a non-invasive plant.

Our cards are 14.6cm x 10.5cm when folded.

Currently we cannot add personalised messages inside of greetings cards. We can however personalise notecard sets with your name, initials or address.

For now, yes they are. So get sending, planting and growing.

It isn’t a defect, it’s character! Due to the rough texture and handmade finish of the card, sometimes there will be tiny patches without ink. We try our best to reduce these as much as possible but again, it’s all part of the charm.

Everything you will need for you to invite your guests to your wedding. You do not have to order everything, we understand that every wedding is different, but just in case we offer Save the Dates, Invitations, and RSVP cards with and without envelopes.

The main differences are the texture and the colour. Our seed card is rough and is white, whereas our recycled card is smoother and is a complimentary similar shade of white.

Our invitations are always 12.8cm x 17.8cm, which is 5 x 7” for those who still love the imperial system.

You sure can.

We do! All of our ‘normal’ invitations can be worded as a reception or evening only invitation.

Yes you can, some of our designs already have the reverse side designed and ready to go.

100%. Who wants to write out the same address 50 times?

We have two options. 100% recycled kraft paper or 100% recycled white paper. Both are 120gsm and use a natural gum.

Information cards, Order of Service, Table Numbers/Name cards, Place Cards and Menus. To finish off we’ve also got you covered with the Thank You cards too.

You can order whatever items you wish when you want, not everyone needs everything, and know what they need at one given time.

Your handwriting hasn’t improved has it? Do not fret friend, just select this option when ordering. 

Not yet. We haven’t found a large format printer that can handle these requirements and also meet our eco ethos. We’ll keep looking!

You can. Not everything necessarily needs to be made of seed card, so our 100% recycled white card will do the trick just fine.

Unfortunately, not. Our Order of Service booklets are four printable pages including the front cover.

Our sets are sold with 10 cards as a starter.

To make sure we stay a zero waste company, our quantities have been worked out to make sure no card stock is wasted. This means you will need to order 50 or 60 cards. But hey, that either means less hand ache from writing or more people you’ve cheered up with a personalised note.

All of our notecards are 15.5cm x 11cm and our folded thank you cards are 14.5cm x 10.5cm when folded.

We do, and we’re super proud of them. Made from kraft material and beautifully engraved with The Seed Card Company logo with a laser. Pew pew.

You will indeed. A PDF proof will be sent to you for your approval before we commence production, but please do double check the wording you input to avoid any errors. No one likes errors!

When you order there are text boxes for you to add all of your information. For things like guest names for invitations or addresses on envelopes, you will receive an email after placing your order with instructions.

You must have a lot to say! Don’t worry, we can print on both sides of our information cards to make sure your guests have everything they need to know. If that still isn’t enough you can order additional information cards so you can fit everything in.

We print in some languages other than English but we are limited to the special characters or glyphs within fonts. We can print in most European languages and also Russian, Polish, Czech, Lithuanian and Turkish. Please remember though that you may be limited on which of our fonts you can choose from. We are not able to print in Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese or Korean.

Each time you order you will be sent a receipt via email. These sales invoices contain all of our VAT information.

We gladly accept all major credit and debit cards.

Double check the code as it is very easy to type a character in wrong. We’ve all done it before. Failing that, please make sure it still has a valid date.

You can indeed although you have to be a bit patient. The minimum order for a custom seed mix is 500 sheets. Before that though we do require a testing period for new seeds which can take up to two months. We wouldn’t want you ordering some seed card that doesn’t grow so we just need to make sure it is right. There is a seed testing fee of £100 which covers everything we need to make sure the seed will grow well once the card has been planted. Once the seeds have been approved, our production time on bespoke mixes is a further three weeks.

We do but there is a minimum order quantity. You will need to order at least 100 sheets with us. There is a £150 charge for Pantone colour matching which covers the cost of us testing and creating the Pantone coloured matched dye and applying it to our seed card when it is being manufactured. We will endeavour to get the colours matched as close as possible but please understand that due to the uncoated finish of our seed card the match may not be 100%. To develop and test the colour takes around 10 days and then if you love it (which we have no doubt you will) it will take two weeks to produce your bespoke seed card from scratch.

We understand that not everyone is a designer or a dab hand with design programs. Why not let us take care of it for you? You can work closely with our in-house design team who will help you in creating the best artwork you ever did see.

Yes! We adore working with independents and retailers and would love to see our cards and stationery in as many places as possible. Please send an email to trade@theseedcardcompany.com and we can advise of these rates.

Greetings card orders will be printed and dispatched within 1-2 days. Wedding and larger orders will take up to 5 days to be processed.

We aim to get our orders sent out as fast as possible. If you have received your dispatch email and still haven’t received your cards a few days later, please do let us know at support@theseedcardcompany.com. If it is less time than that, please sit tight as your order is on its way.

You can, but only if you have chosen the trackable delivery option.

Currently, we are only offering delivery in the UK but international delivery is on our radar. We need to make sure that all of our deliveries are handled by a company that carries the same ethos as we do but watch this space!

When we do start shipping out of the UK, you will. We cannot be held accountable for any custom fees if orders are being shipped abroad.
